It Up!!!
2009-2010 FLY RACING
INDOOR STADIUM CROSS
PRESENTED BY PIRELLI

www.rpmsportsonline.com
producers of motocross
and stadium cross events
in Georgia, Texas, Alabama,
Mississippi, and Tennessee
again packed the house
with a big crowd of
pros and amateurs alike
for Stadium Cross presented
by Fly Racing. Corinth
Mississippi and the
Cross Roads Arena was
the site for one of
the most epic weekends
of racing to date!
Tevin
Tapia and Andrew Matusek
threw down and went
down in the 250 Pro
Main Event and put on
one of the best displays
of bar banging take
out racing to date.
Pro’s had their
chance at over $4,000
in cash with 2 main
events each night and
a Dash for Cash on Saturday
night. Jase Lewis took
a wheel barrel full
of cash home with wins
in the Dash for Cash
and the 450 main events.
1986
East Coast Supercross
Champ Keith Turpin brought
his son Brad out to
clean house in Mississippi
and Turpin said this
about the event:
“I
would have to say the
Stadiumcross event in
Corinth, MS. was the
best indoor amateur
track-event I have ever
been too and I've seen
a few including professional
events. The track was
awesome as well as all
the racing especially
the Pro class Friday
night with Matusek and
Tapia . Both Bryan and
Brad talked about the
thrills, spills and
chills the entire way
home. Your event including
the intro of the pro
riders, the live band
and the rider interviews
are first class. What
a show!”

I'm
going to go ahead and
speak for RPM Sports
and say thank you to
everyone that showed
up to support the 2010
Fly Stadium Cross Series
as it made its' debut
in Rome Georgia. Bad
weather couldn’t
keep the
riders and spectators
from showing up in force.
Georgia riders were
greeted by a wonderful
http://www.otcmx.com
created track that
inspired passing and
some of the best racing
I've personally seen
in a
long time. Friday was
solid but the crowds
really showed up on
Saturday with 31 main
events going off without
a hitch in three hours
flat! Riders were also
commenting on the pure
track time they got
as
they participated in
2 practice sessions
in the morning, then
a full
plate of qualifying
during the day and then
main events in front
of
over 1,200 spectators
who jumped out of their
seats with every block
pass and crash as the
night went on.
The
tight track and 180
degree turns brought
the riders together
each
lap and made each pass
exciting. In the 50cc
class Jackson Turpin,
Benjamin Rose, and Brenden
Blomquist stole the
show with passing and
bumping during the day
and in the main events
with each of them
sharing the spot light.
Turpin jumped on the
bigger bike and did
some
damage on the 65's along
with Trent Sexton who
got on the podium twice
during the night with
wins as well.
The
85's put on a great
show for the crowd during
the day qualifiers
and it just got better
during the main events.
Nearly a full gate in
the 12-15 and Supermini
classes provided a perfect
scenario for Brad
Turpin, Zach Beverly,
and David Nizarri to
pass back and forth
all the
way to the finish. Lapped
riders and block passes
made for some
awesome racing with
each of them taking
their turn leading a
lap here,
then slipping back a
position and then going
for it again! Brad Turpin
was all smiles as he
came out on top......barely!
Bogen
Cochran was the man
in the B class all day
and during qualifying
but someone forgot to
tell Jeffrey Lewis that.
Lewis started the main
out strong with a great
reaction off the gate
and pulled a nice lead.
Riders were going down,
tough blocks were flying
and that didn't phase
Cochran as he went to
work and finally caught
Lewis and made the pass
nice and clean which
is rare on such a tight
race track.
The
pro class was hotly
contested starting in
the day practice and
that carried over to
qualifying and the mains.
Sprinkle in some drama,
a ton of slamming, $4,000
in cash and some pride
and you have some of
the best racing you
could ask for. I’ve
announced hundreds of
races
and these guys were
so fun to watch and
the crowd responded
to each
and every T-bone, take
out, and no one out
there was immune to
serving
up a slam or accepting
one. Jase lewis had
the speed but Tevin
Tappia
had tires that seemed
to stick to the track
like glue. Tapia slammed
Lewis and Lewis answered
back and would knock
him up into the stands
but it never phased
either of them. Behind
them war was being waged
with riders like Andrew
Matusek, Matthew Bell,
Jesse Madden, Kyle
Odom,and Clint Shealy
all taking the gloves
off for a little slam
fest. The crowd was
absolutely up on their
feet each time Lewis
and
Tappia would enter a
corner as you could
see from a mile away
what was
about to happen. At
the end of the night
it was Tappia who got
the
best of everyone and
I would imagine none
of these guys will be
“friend requesting”
each other on Facebook!
The pros had 2 qualifiers,
a dash for cash, and
2 main events so the
crowd got their moneys
worth.
All
in all it was an outstanding
event with the best
crowd the series
has seen thus far. Next
week we head to Mississippi
to the Cross Roads
Arena and a track that
is simply huge! Join
the fun and come see
us
next Friday and Saturday
as the series visits
Corinth Mississippi.

INDOOR STADIUM CROSS
PRESENTED BY PIRELLI

www.rpmsportsonline.com
producers of motocross
and stadium cross events
in Georgia, Texas, Alabama,
Mississippi, and Tennessee
hosted their second
weekend of racing and
the crowd was on its
feet all night long!
Over 3oo riders showed
up to shred on a perfectly
manicured www.otcmx.com
designed race track.
Jesse and the boys from
OTC served another unique
layout complete with
whoops, multiple lined
rhythm sections that
had the pros using different
options each lap!
The city of Corinth
Mississippi showed up
in force with locals
packing the arena and
they were treated to
full gates of pros in
both the lites and MX
classes. The word has
gotten out on the large
pro purses and dash
for cash pay outs and
riders like Tevin Tapia,
Taylor Futrell, Jase
Lewis and many others
battled for a chance
on the podium and some
cash for the holidays.
Futrell started out
the weekend with a 2nd
place finish but soon
dialed up his speed
and landed on the top
of the box the last
3 pro mains and the
dash for cash. Tevin
Tapia was up for the
challenge and picked
up the first main event
win on the weekend but
bad starts and left
him coming from behind
and battling through
some of the regions
fastest riders. Even
the little guys threw
down the gauntlet with
Blaze Roberston and
Benjamin Rose dicing
in the 50cc class and
Zachary Bishop Burnett
was untouchable in the
85cc classes.
The pro’s and
amateurs were all excited
about how much track
time they got with two
rounds of practice,
heat races, and then
main events with lots
of laps! The 2009 Fly
Stadium Cross Series
takes a small break
for the holidays and
then gets back into
action on January 8th
& 9th in Rome Georgia
at the Forum Arena.
Track map is already
posted over at www.rpmsportsonline.com
so get all the info
and bring those new
bikes and gear from
Christmas and break
them in with the Fly
Stadium Cross Series!
